Louis Pasteur
Chemist

Born 27 December 1822, time of 2PM from The Circle Book of Charts by Michael Erlewine published by AFA. The most notable feature of the chart is 6 planets in Capricorn in the 3rd house. Adding to this practical, mental and communicative ambition is the Moon in Gemini the 3rd sign.

The following two quotes are from the Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia, Copyright © 1997.

"PASTEUR, Louis (1822-95). The French chemist Louis Pasteur devoted his life to solving practical problems of industry, agriculture, and medicine." ...
"In the laboratory he was a calm and exact worker; but once sure of his findings, he vigorously defended them. Pasteur was an ardent patriot, zealous in his ambition to make France great through science. "
The same source also included the following:
"His discoveries have saved countless lives and created new wealth for the world. Among his discoveries are the pasteurization process and ways of preventing silkworm diseases, anthrax, chicken cholera, and rabies. Pasteur sought no profits from his discoveries, and he supported his family on his professor's salary or on a modest government allowance. "

Yet another source, http://www.unhinderedliving.com/germtheory.html,had the exact opposite to say: "In the medical schools of the United States and many other Western countries today, doctors are taught a lie. This lie is a particular viewpoint about disease called The Germ Theory. The scientist credited with discovering it is Louis Pasteur, also credited with finding a cure for Rabies. Pasteur has been heralded as making some of the most important discoveries of all time. Yet, when we look at the historical evidence, we see that Pasteur was an incompetent fraud! Not only did he NOT understand the processes which he experimented with and wrote about, but most of what he is credited with discovering was plagarized from scientists previous to or contemporary with him. For a thorough rendition of this history, you can read the full text of the 1940's book "Pasteur, Plagarist, Imposter" by R.B. Pearson at The Dream and Lie of Louis Pasteur, found at: http://www.sumeria.net/dream.html.

Mercury, Sun, Venus conjunct both Neptune and Uranus mark Pasteur as a potential genius, ahead of his time in research of the 'invisible' (Neptune) realm. However, his career has left a legacy of questions about the correctness of his 'immunization' theories as well as whether he adpated much of his material from others, or even stole ideas from Antoine Bechamp, a contempory scientist who prefered a quiet, behind the scenes life, contrasted to Pasteur's upfront, before the public, self promoting ways.
